REVIEW: Chrissie Swan for Avella at BIG W

Last week I was lucky enough to attend Chrissie Swan's new clothing range launch for plus size brand Avella at BIG W.

I was a little excited firstly to be attending a plus size clothing launch and secondly to know that it was designed by a fantastic well known woman who knows exactly what it is like to dress when you are not only a plus size woman, a working woman and a mother.

Chrissie spoke about how she choose fabrics that wouldn't give you body odour in 5 minutes and quality cuts, tops that won't make you look like a mushroom because the sleeve seam starts half way down your bicep.  She has made her range very versatile, shirt dresses that can be worn tied at the waist or loose, a light weight jacket that can be worn with the sleeves folded up or the zip down half way.

Immediately, I was drawn to the dress she had on but also thought there was no way that could be part of her range, alas as the evening went on she said the said PU panel dress would be a part of the range next month, I am predicting right now it will be sold out within minutes!

These are my fav pieces from the range, it is definitely affordable fashion and the fabrics are great, generally not what you expect with a reasonable price tag.  The biker jacket is perfect for all seasons, its not bulky so can be worn with a jumper, the zip is bang on trend also.  The leopard cardigan is superb for work or weekends and the PU skirt is just gorgeous!  You can see the full range here

Biker Jacket $55
Black cardigan $35
Pencil skirt $25

Both models looked stunning in all Chrissie's pieces and as Chrissie said its quicker to put on a shirt dress to go get milk than it is trackies and a t-shirt!

I cannot wait to see what else she has in store for us, I think she has covered all bases age wise and I am sure there will be more of that.

Chrissie is such a lovely woman I feel really privileged to have met her actually, there were people there that were huge fans of hers, I haven't even seen The Circle but I did however see her on Big Brother and loved her then and have now switched my morning radio station to 101.1.

Have you seen the range

x A

  1. Oooh I love that biker jacket! I haven't seen the range yet, but really looking forward to it! :)

  2. I just bought a Chrissie robe. It's black and soooo comfy and just makes me feel glammed up, even in my PJs and birds nest hair. Awesome :)
