HELLO... is it me you're looking for?

Wow it has been awhile, a very long while. I've been busy to say the least, gosh almost a year since my last blog, I have really missed this, just writing down whatever I like.

I had a second child, I went back to work, I decided to study and still am studying, in stead of writing a quick blog of a night I now sit here writing medical reports until I finish this god damn course.

Anyway I just wanted to let you know I am here and I do plan on making a come back... I of course still love to shop, latest purchases include sequin boots, sky high Nikes and a new Gorman rain coat.

Stay tuned lovelies, I want to share stuff with you.

Peace out

Why it pays to have a birthday

Image result for birthday cake

Remember last year when I turned the big 3 0 well as quick as that came around so did turning the big 3 1. Celebrations this year were no where near as exciting as last year, no Mulberry handbag (which despite my husband thinking I would only use for a few weeks I still use everyday now).  Life changes dramatically when your a SAHM with a FIFO husband.

I know like most of you I get a zillion emails each week, special offers and discounts from stores I swear I never signed up to but, one thing I did really notice this year was how many birthday emails with discounts one receives when its your special day.

I felt I needed to share with you all the discounts/ freebies I received.

Kikki K - $10 off
Bardot - $20 off (during their sale at Bardot Junior I got my son a hoodie worth $60 for $9.95)
Myer - $10 off (used with my Myer One $20 voucher I received, I got my Chanel mascara for $22)
City Chic - $20 off
Free Boost Juice
Mimco - $15 reward
Priceline - $5 off
Country Road - $30 reward
Free Salsas Burrito
Bonds - $10 off
Marks & Spencer - 25% off online

As annoying all those emails and pile of loyalty cards might be in your wallet, when its close to your birthday read those emails and reap the benefits! I surely did!

Do you get this many birthday discounts?

How to get an effortless fresh face

I often get comments from people saying that I don't look like I wear any make up, well I do not every day but if I am at work or going out for the day here is my fab beauty routine!

Want a super quick easy way to get a fresh blemish free face?  These products are my answer to my tired eyes and large pores whilst giving me the make up free look.

I have used Clarins moisturiser for over 10 plus years.  After having a shower I apply my serum and moisturiser even if I am not wearing make up its essential for my skin to get that moisture back after washing my face and great for a good make up base. Now that I am the big 30 I am using Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, its a great eye cream I can really notice the difference in my eye appearance and fine lines. Do you have an eye cream recommendation?

I have large pores across my t-zone so I look for foundations that cover these without clogging my pores.  My new best friend is MAC Prep + Prime Beauty Balm, from the first time I used I was amazed at the coverage and concealment it gave me, literally my pores vanished before my eyes it is easy to apply and fantastic coverage, not to mention an SPF of 30+.  I like to apply a sweep of bronzer on top of my foundation and the Chanel bronzer and kabuki brush gives me a lovely glow.

Finish off the effortless look with a sweep of mascara, I have tried lots of different brands and the Chanel Le Volume mascara gives volume and wider eyes in one swift application.

These beauty products really aren't that expensive, I have been using them all for over a year now so have well and truly got my monies worth, I know your meant to replace your mascara every 3 months but I ain't got time for that, if its not finished then its not ready for the bin!

Too easy!  Do you have a quick beauty routine, please share!

Autograph Denim Jeans

The past few weeks I have been sampling some of Autograph's new denim jean range. Jeans are a staple in my wardrobe, they never used to be as I could never find any that fitted well or good quality, but thankfully for us plus sized ladies we have more and more options each season for us to stay comfy and stylish.  I usually stick to my jeggings or skinny leg jeans but have been road testing two different styles from Autograph.

I have been wearing the Boyfriend Jeans and the Black Secret Straight Leg Jeans, both of these are made with good quality denim, the boyfriend jean are designed to have straight legs and a distressed denim look, these are meant to resemble your boyfriends jeans don't ask me why as there is no way I would ever fit my husband's jeans but they are designed for comfort also and that they certainly are, fashion says that boyfriend jeans are hugely on trend at the moment.  I wore mine doing exciting things like the supermarket shopping and the kinder run, that's exciting right?  These can easily be paired with a white tee and sneakers or a pair of boots in winter, easy to throw on and run out the door in without a second thought.

The Black Secret Straight Leg Jeans are a really nice feel denim, they have great stretch and my bottom feels in place and snug sort of like a warm hug. I like jeans that sit around belly button height but don't cut off whilst sitting down, these jeans make you feel tucked in but you can breathe which is always helpful and that's what makes them super comfortable to wear and your still easily able to put your hands in your pockets. I am always a fan of black jeans totally versatile for day and night wear, glam casual for weekdays and a bling top and heels for night time.

So ladies now is a great time to try out some of Autograph's new jean range because at the moment they have 2 pairs of jeans for $99**, the range is to suit everyone, jeggings, straight leg, boyfriend, slim leg and the always popular bootleg and great news for those shorter ladies some jeans come in short length so no tailoring or turn ups.

Are you a jeans gal? Do you find it hard to find the right fit?

20 Shades of Grey

20 Shades of Grey

I couldn't resist doing a shades of grey post especially with 50 Shades of Grey opening in cinemas this Thursday, hmmmmm Jamie Dornan....

If you have been hiding under a fashion rock you won't have noticed that grey is absolutely everywhere!!! This week I had 3 emails from women's fashion stores about grey land in my inbox and I am seriously in love with the Country Road cardigan above.

I love grey, it looks great against a crisp white tee and of course is a match made in heaven teamed with black but I love how it looks with the brown and white in the fux fur scarf, brown haired gals can't beat a great fedora for winter either.  What I love also about these grey pieces is most of them are investment items, ponchos, vests, cardigan, scarves they never go out of fashion in my eyes and all essential for the big chill.

What do you think of all this grey?  Too glum?

Aussie Curves: Activewear

I have recently joined the gym...

Before I started Pilates back in late 2013 I didn't own any sort of workout wear, I was living in London for a long time before moving back to Australia so my exercise was walking everywhere so entering into the world of plus size workout wear was kind of scary and unfamiliar, I wanted something that fitted well and was fashionable, that I soon discovered wasn't overly easy to come by.  So my research began and here is what I found in plus size workout brands, ain't no Lorna Jane around here.

I ordered two pairs of workout pants from Female For Life a few weeks ago during their sale "buy one get one free" and they arrived in super speed time and I was definitely impressed.  The fabric is lovely and soft with great stretch and they stay put when working out, the only downfall would be that I would prefer them a little higher in the waist but that is also me I like to wear all trousers to at least my belly button.  The animal print are a little see through but hey when your sweating like a pig who really cares.

I did have fun taking these pictures! Moving on...

ONE active by Michelle Bridges at Big W have a limited range of plus sizes from what I have seen in store it is one or two pieces in pants and tops but I have purchased a 3/4 pair for Pilates and they are very comfortable and a good quality fabric and will do me good for spin class.

Best & Less also have a range but I find they sell out reasonably quick in their larger sizes, I have purchased 3/4 and full length workout pants from there, they were a great price but aren't very hard wearing in the crouch or waistband.  But they do have large sized sports bras which seem to do the job, I don't run but are comfortable whilst working out.

Running Bare have a limited plus size range also a few pairs of pants and some tops, I purchased a t-shirt from a local retailer last week and it does the job, basically just a tee with their logo written on it.

Old Navy in America have a large range of plus size workout clothes, in fact a lot of stores in the US have plus sizes which is a bummer due to shipping costs.  I took advantage of Auspost Shop Mate's discount during the festive season and placed and order for compression leggings, the fabric is thick and they are hard to get on but ultimately still comfortable to workout in.

When it comes to workout tops I am more comfortable working out in an oversize t-shirt then something skin tight and sleeveless so these I get anywhere from Kmart to ASOS and spend very little money on!  I am definitely not a shorts person I cannot deal with shorts riding up whilst listening to Shake it Off.

These are the brands that I have tried, I know there are others out there like TS14+ and Curvy Chic Sports but I am yet to try these.

Have you found any other places in Australia that sell plus size workout wear?  Have you tried any of these?

Aussie Curves: Night Out

Phew, it has been a long time between outfit posts for this mumma.  My last Aussie Curves outfit was back in April!

I am currently on maternity leave and my online shopping habit was bad prior to stopping work and well now its ramped up a notch, um this week I had a parcel arrive everyday, lucky for me hubby doesn't get home until late!

I rarely get out much these days but next week I am catching up with girlfriends in the city for dinner and this is what I plan on wearing. Ordinarily when I go out I reach for my jeans and a dressy top but this outfit makes me feel super girly as my usual outfit these days is track pants but I love this tee from plus size US model Rosie Mercardo's brand Bellisima, I am a huge Chanel fan and wish I purchased two of these tees.  My skirt was a new arrival this week and I scored it for a bargain £8.80 ($16 approx) along with a houndstooth duster coat and ever faithful jeggings from Dorothy Perkins.

Shoes: Country Road

Bear with me while I get my picture taking mojo back!  What do you like to wear when you go out?
